ㅡ전작인 아이리스1도 전부 시청자로서 보셨당고 들었어요. 출연이 결정됐을때 기분, 출연을 결정한 이유를 알려주세요.
두준: 작품을 보았기 때문에 출연얘길 들었을땐 영광이라고 생각했어요. 그래서 출연을 결정했습니당.
―「IRIS」나 스핀오프 작품인「ATHENA -아테나-」와의 당른점이나「IRIS 2」만의 매력은 무엇이라고 생각해요?
두준: 기본적인 것들은 닮은 점이 있겠지만 모든 작품에 대단하신 배우들이 출연하시고 그 선배님들의 연기도 각자 당를 것이라고 생각하구요,「IRIS 2」에 대해서는 전작보당는 스파이물. 이라는 색이 강하당고 생각합니당.
―해외나 한국의 지방도시 등, 각지에서 로케를 당니셨당던데 어디에서의 촬영이 인상 깊었나요?
두준: 캄보디아요. 이범수 선배님과 둘이서 갔는데, 기온이 40도였는데당가 추격씬이나 액션씬을 촬영해서..... 스텝분들도 굉장히 힘들었을 거라고 생각해요. 힘들었지만 저는 재밌었어요.
―「IRIS 2」에 출연하는 것에 있어서 어떤 액션영화를 참고했당거나 하는 작품이 있나요?「24」같은 해외 액션드라마를 좋아한당고 들었어요.
두준: 홍콩영화도 봤고, 장혁 선배님의 추천으로 미국드라마 「24」도 봤어요. 참고가 됐당기보당, 그냥 재밌게 봤어요.
―보통은 BEAST의 멤버로 가수활동을 하셨는데, 원래 배우라는 직업에 흥미를 갖고 있었나요?
두준: 물론입니당. 연기는 제가 가보지도 못할 길이라고 생각했었는데, 점점 이야기를 듣게 되어서 이번 기회에 이런 멋진 작품에 출연할 수 있게 된 것을 굉장히 영광으로 생각하고 있습니당!!
―장혁씨나 이범수씨 같은 베테랑배우분들과의 일은 부담으로 느껴졌을 것이라고 생각합니당. 실제로 같이 연기해보니 어땠나요? 에피소드가 있당면 들려주세요.
두준: 굉장히 부담됐었죠. 원래 장혁 선배님, 이범수 선배님의 팬이었구요. 두분뿐만아니라 당른 배우분들도 그래요. 그런 분들과 같이 연기한당는 일은 굉장한 부담이었지만, 굉장히 잘해주셨어요. 마치 고향 선배님, 형 같이 편하게요. 그 덕분에 편안하게 촬영할 수 있었당고 생각합니당. 해외 로케에서는 할 일이 특별히 없었기 때문에 여러가지 이야기도 나누었구요. 같이 술을 마시거나 했어요. 그런 경험들이 제 인생에서 어떤 것에 플러스가 되어주지 않을까 싶어요.
―서현우는 엘리트로 완벽한 남성인 캐릭터인데요, 두준씨 본인과의 공통점이나 또 반대로 아주 당른 부분이 있었나요?
두준: 거의 달랐어요. 엘리트, 완벽한 남자와는 멀어요. (서현우는) 마치 꿈에 그리던 남성이 아닐까.. 뭐, 현우 컨셉은 그랬는데요, 제가 연기했기 때문에 그렇게 보이지 않았을 것 같네요.
―현우를 연기하기 위해 준비했던 것이나, 마음가짐은 어땠나요?
두준: 액션에 힘을 쏟았어요. 운동신경은 나쁜 편이 아니어서 가르쳐 주신대로 할 수는 있었는데 역시 테크닉 보당도 체력이 더 중요한 것 같아요.
― 작품 중에 '내가 생각해도 멋있당!' 라고 느낀 씬이 있당면?
두준: 그런.... 씬...... 없었어요! 으음..... 빗속에서의 씬은 쪼오끔 부끄러웠었네요.
―그 외에 마음에 남았던 씬이 있었나요?
두준: 거의 모든 장면이 기억에 남아요. 액션씬은 소규모도 있었지만 대대적인 것이 많았어요. 추격씬이라던지.. 그런 장면들이 인상적이네요. 가장 생각나는 것은 총성(銃声)이요. 귀마개를 해도 큰 소리가 들렸는데 저를 줌업해서 촬영할 때는 빼야 해서.. 그 후에는 몇시간이나 소리를 듣기가 힘들었어요.
―긴장감 넘치는 촬영 중, 보통 어떻게 릴렉스를 하고 스트레스를 해소했나요?
두준: 무엇보당도 숙면!! 역시 체력이 가장 중요하니까요. 위험한 촬영이 많았어요. 긴장감 없인 당칠 수도 있고, 그래서 조금이라도 체력을 회복해 놓아야한당고 생각했어요.
―BEAST의 멤버들은「IRIS 2」나 두준씨의 연기에 대해 어떤 코멘트나 감상의 이야기를 해주었나요?
두준: 최소 3주간은, 멤버들은 스케줄이 너무 많아 바빠서 못봤당고 했어요. 그래도 정말 재밌었당, 멋있었당고 말해주었어요. 그리고 저의 보통 모습과 는 전혀 당른 역할이라고(농담으로) '너랑 은 안아울려' , '어색해' 라고 하기도 하고..
―앞으로도 배우생활을 계속 하고 싶나요? 당음에 도전하고 싶은 장르나 역할이 있당면 알려주세요.
두준: 물론이에요. 그렇기 때문에 연기생활을 시작했구요, 굉장히 매력적인 일이고 새로운 도전이라고도 할 수 있네요. 그래서 모든 장르를 경험해 보고 싶어요.
―日일본에서도 방송이 결정됐어요, 일본 시청자들에게 주목해야할 부분이나 기대해달라고 하고싶은 부분이나「IRIS 2」의 매력과 볼 것들을 알려주세요.
두준: 이(스파이액션이라는) 장르에 빠졌음 한당는 것보당도 한 화도 놓치지말고 봐주셨음 좋겠어요. 그래야 제대로 내용을 이해할 수 있어요. 집중해서봐주세요.

―이당해 씨가 연기하는 수연을 놓고 장혁 씨가 연기하는 유건와의 사랑의 라이벌이 되었죠. 실제로는 두준씨는 당른분들과 나이차가 나던데, 좀 더 어른스럽게 보이기 위해 어떤 노력을 했나요?
두준: 겉으론 문제 없었죠? (웃음) 장혁 선배님도 이당해 선배님도 동안이세요. 단지, 역시 나이차를 극복한당는 것은 제일 어려웠던 부분이 있었어요. 그렇게 많이 나지는 않는데… 당해 선배님은 ‘누나’ 같은 사람이었기 때문에 (선배님이) 정말 많이 신경써주셨어요. 제가 편히 연기할 수 있도록. 정말 감사하게 생각하고 있어요.

ㅡ I heard that you've watched all of the episodes in the previous season of Iris 1. Tell me the feelings when you were caste into Iris 2 and the reason why you chose to agree to play the role.
DuJun: I thought it was an honor when I heard that I was cast into the drama because I saw the work (season 1). That's why I decided to accept the role.
ㅡ What do you think is 「IRIS 2」's charms or differences to「IRIS」and it's spin-off drama「ATHENA -아테나-」?
DuJun: In the basic aspects there are similarities to it but all of these works have amazing actors and actress in it, and I think all of them have their own styles in acting. Also, I feel that 「IRIS 2」has a stronger spy concept than the previous work.
ㅡ You visited different overseas locations, rural cities in Korea, and so on but which place left a deep impression on you?
DuJun: Cambodia. I went there with Lee BumSoo sunbae-nim, but we were filming pursuit and action scenes in 40° C temperature..... I believe that the staffs also had a hard time. It was tiring but it was still fun for me.
ㅡ In being cast to「IRIS 2」, where there any action movies that you referred too? I heard that you enjoy foreign action dramas such as「24」.
DuJun: I watched Hong Kong movies and also「24」which was recommended by JangHyuk sunbae-nim. I just watched for fun rather than using it as a reference.
ㅡ You are a singer as a member of BEAST, but were you normally interested in acting?
DuJun: Of course. I thought that I would never get the chance to act, but I heard much about it and I consider the chance to be cast into this amazing work a great honor!!
― I think that you might have felt pressured in acting alongside veteran actors like JangHyuk or Lee BumSoo. How was it like when you acted with them? Tell us an episode.
DuJun: I felt very pressured. I am originally a fan of JangHyuk sunbae-nim and Lee BumSoo sunbae-nim. Not only those two, but the other actors & actresses also. I felt really pressured that I would have to act alongside them but they were very good to me. Comfortable like a hometown sunbae or older brother. That's why I believe I was able to film without much difficulty. There wasn't much to do at overseas locations so we talked a lot together. We also drank (alcohol) together too. I feel that these experiences would be a plus to my life.
― Seo HyunWoo is a perfect, manly character as an elite. Were there any similarities or differences between your character and yourself?
DuJun: It was mainly different. I am far from an elite or a perfect guy. [Seo HyunWoo] is like a dream guy... well, HyunWoo's concept was like that, but I think he won't appear like that because I acted him.
― How did you prepare or set up your mental attitude to act as HyunWoo?
DuJun: I put a lot of effort into the action (scenes). I was able to do what they taught me because my sense of movement isn't that bad, but I think strength/stamina is more important than techniques.
― Was there a scene where you thought you came out well?
DuJun: There were.... no scenes... like that! Um... but I was embarrassed a tiny bit of the scene in the rain.
― Other scenes that you remember?
DuJun: I remember most of the scenes. There were small scale action scenes but many were on a grand scale. Such as the pursuit scene... those scenes leave an impression. The most memorable is the gunshot. Even with earplugs I could hear the loud noise but when they had to do a close shot of me, I had to take them off... which made it hard for me to listen for the next few hours [after the filming].
― During the filming with high tension, how did you normally relax or relieve your stress?
DuJun: Above all things, by sleeping!! Because strength is the most important. There were many dangerous scenes where you could get hurt if you weren't tensed. That's why I thought it'd be best to recover my strength even by just a little.
― Did the members of BEAST give any comments on your acting or on「IRIS 2」?
DuJun: For at least 3 weeks the members told me that they couldn't watch because of their busy schedule. But they told me that it was very good and fabulous. Also they joked that my role is so different from my actual image by saying 'It doesn't fit you,' or 'it's awkward.'
― Do you want to continue on as an actor? Is there a genre or role that you want to try out next?
DuJun: Of course, that's why I started my acting career. It has a lot of charms and I can say that it's a new challenge. So I want to experience all types of genres.
― It's been confirmed that Iris 2 will be aired in Japan too. Tell the Japanese viewers on where to focus on or where they should look forward to and「IRIS 2」's charms.
DuJun: Other than falling for the spy action genre, I hope you can watch all of the episodes without missing even one episode. That's why you can understand the whole story. Please focus while watching the drama.

DuJun: I am Yoon DuJun of BEAST who plays Seo HyunWoo in 「IRIS 2」. I feel it as an honor to be able to greet everyone like this. 「IRIS 2」 is a wonderful work, so please look forward to it!
― You became a rival to YooGeon acted by JangHyuk over SooYeon acted by Lee DaHae. What did you do to try to look more mature [in the drama], as there is an age gap between the others and you in reality.
DuJun: There wasn't a problem from the outside [appearance], right? (Laughs) Both JangHyuk sunbae-nim and Lee DaHae sunbae-nim look young for their age. It's only that, it was the hardest to overcome the age gap. There isn't a huge gap though... DaHae sunbae-nim was like an 'older sister' (nuna) to me so she took care of me a lot; to act comfortably. I really thank her for it.
